s.o.t.w.

this cute sailor girl was student of the week--again!
(twice in one school year...wow)

first steps!!!!

this little foot took it's first step last night!
boston surprised us last night by deciding he wanted to walk.
he thought it was the greatest thing and could not stop laughing!
it's hard to walk for the first time and even harder when you
can't stop laughing..........we've been telling people all week it will
probably be another month before he walks. he just had no
interest-it's amazing how determined these babies are.
his record as of now is 5 steps!

go jazz!

watch for hayden and joe at the jazz play-off
game tonight! they'll be sitting on the 2nd row
at the 3-point line. hayden, being a kirilenko
look-a-like, just might get some camera time!
thanks to todd and andie pedersen for the tix.

no camera, no blog posts

somewhere between orem and san clemente is the charger
for our camera battery. so, until we locate it, we're missing
out on days of blog posts..................this picture is of boston
doing his new favorite trick with his lips, if only we could get
him to give kisses like this instead of open mouthed! (this was
taken before california)
we've had 30 degree soccer games, hayden's first scout over-
nighter, primary children's hospital outings, jared graduating
from byu, stitches taken out, and ittle league baseball starting.
busy as always, we'll find our charger and be back to blogging!

warning: there are a ton of new pictures posted

be glad this is all we put on-
there are about 200 more on our computer!
some of them make for great close-ups, just
double click on them...........................enjoy!

ahhh, warmth

in st. george, at grandma hansens, the babies would
not stay in the house. they just loved being out in
the warm sunshine and in the road...it might be a long summer!

california, here we come

mark urish teasing my kids.
we had stomach aches from laughing so hard after
meeting mark, denise and his cute boys for lunch in
vegas where mark is working as a chippendale dancer.

how amazing is this? we cross the california border
and there is a car in front of us with this license
plate! so amazing, so coincidental and so cute.

don't ask!

sunday, happy to be on vacation

the world is your stage, the bathtub is theirs.
how fun to be a kid.

it's been over 5 years since we've seen the ocean.
what a welcome sight.

how fun, again, to be a kid.

monday, the happiest place on earth

happy, smiling faces, can you blame us? thank you,
tinkerbell for putting fairy dust on joe-it helped him
make it through the day.

yo-ho skylar

the twins loved-loved-loved the jungle ride--brighton's
face was like this through the whole ride, here she is
facing the elephants.

some sweet kids stuck in pooh bear's honey.
thanks, andersons for going with us,
you were a blast to have around.

tuesday, sea world

what a nice break after disneyland, no crowds
and lots of dirty concrete for the babies to crawl
around on.

the flamingos were fascinating, if only courtney's legs
were as skinny as theirs.

sailor touching the starfish, or as we were taught in
connecticut, the sea-stars....they are not fish, we were told.

the highlight of our trip

this year for birthdays we gave the kids a ticket to swim
with the dolphins.......what a neat experience. here they
are, with nic and alec, getting a close up of a jumping dolphin.

and a landing, splashing dolphin. notice sailor behind
the dolphin taking cover!

feeding time

sailor was doing the twist with the dolphin

sky kissed the dolphin and got a spray of water from the
blowhole in return............i think that means he likes her.

hayden taking the dolphin on a walk!

forget about being a nicu doctor, sailor wants to be
a dolphin trainer..........................surprise, surprise!

sailor and sky were dancing with the dolphin--
doing the funky chicken, i mean the funky dolphin.

the kids had a water fight with the dolphin, guess who won.

wednesday, a day at the beach

we love this picture--enlarge it and look at those cute faces,
you might even be able to tell which surfer is joe!

he looks genuine doesn't he?

that is until he has to have jim help him get his wet suit off!
he actually got up on his first try, did a great job, and had a
ball all day (his "10 more minutes" turned into hours). the
best part is, he wasn't even that sore the next day-miracle!

sailor is the true surfer/water girl. here she is with
andrew and her board.

a very proud sailor, this will be a great addition to the hut.

who needs toys? give kids some sand and dead vegetation and
they'll be entertained all day. they made a great fort and decided
it would be a great place for a homeless person to spend the night.

the girls thought it was so funny to torture brighton.
she did not like the sand one bit and she would do
everything in her power to keep those little piggies
from touching the sand. the nicu nurses always
called her the little diva...she truly is a little diva!

thursday, california adventure & disneyland again

it's a bug life!

babies loved loved loved the teacups! (sailor did too!)

hayden and nic spent a lot of time in line. rock-paper-
sissors was a great way to pass time and annoy every-
one in line around them.

it's amazing how much the twins liked the carousel, especially
brighton--she really is aware of everything. boston, on the
other hand, is usually very aware of brighton.

oh, the monkey car....so, we wanted to get a photo of our
monkeys looking out of the monkey cage. as the photo
was being taken a "very patient" ape, i mean, lady tried to
charge into our monkey cage. in the process, boston got
startled & fell off the bench, right on his head. then, he
flipped out of the car and landed on the concrete platform
with his head wedged between the car and the platform.
all the ladies in line screamed, boston screamed and we
missed the photo. boston did get 3 nice bumps & scabs on
one side of his head and a big ol' bump/bruise on the other.

we love boston's ears and thought it only fitting he
get his photo taken with dumbo.

we wish they made adult strollers

after a long day at disneyland, it's the parents that need a stroller
and a good sleep.

may the force be with us

how fun does that seem? hayden, nic, alec & andrew all got
light sabers at disneyland. they were in another world the
next morning when they had light saber fights (with the ocean
in the background!). we're lucky boston is only 1 and not inter-
ested yet, poor gina has 3 boys at home with 3 light sabers......
may the force be with her!

fiona, the sea lion

how fun! we had a sea lion on our beach, the kids and adults
were very fascinated, what luck! we soon discovered that she
wasn't feeling well and help was called in.

after about 45 minutes, rescuers from pacific marine medical
center came and took her away. they named her fiona and told
us we could check her status online. we haven't found any
information about her so we think the outcome is not good:(
she was a sweet sea lion and she sure made for an exciting
day at the beach.

ooo, pretty

okay, this was cuter than the picture shows but we
have to share it anyway. brighton loves to put things
on her head/around her neck (necklaces, headbands,
clothing) and we all say "ooo, pretty". at the beach,
friday, i turned to her and saw that she had tried to
be "pretty" with her simsuit cover-up! what was so
funny is that it was basically stuck really tight and she
couldn't move! she almost had it off by herself and she's
only 15 months--just can't wait 'til she's changing her
clothes 5 times a day (elli anderson!).

pagie & ashley, california girls!

it was so fun to see the collins' while in california.
it was even better seeing them while eating in &
out burgers! yum!

4.20.2008

i went to california & all i got was....

four stitches in my head! -brighton
(while in st. george, one of the young's bikes fell over on
brighton--we think the kick stand did the damage. thanks,
mike for the bandaging!

stay tuned for a week full of california!
it only took four adults to hold brighton down, thanks, dr. todd.

cassidy supermoto anderson

cassidy is in the lead-#15

cassidy and govenor huntsman
let me brag a minute about my cousin cassidy. he is a professional supermoto racer. yesterday he finished 4th in the espn moto x games!
supermoto is 80% street and 20% in the dirt. the literally go 100mph around a street track and then right into jumps in the dirt. they put street tires (slicks) on motocross bikes.
he was the national champion in 2006 and has raced in italy, belgium and japan.
govenor huntsman (who is so handsome and someone in our family has a secret crush on him) is a fan of cassidy's, he has ridden with him. he said cassidy is a good representative of our state!
we are so proud of him, way to go cass!
thanks, ellery, for the post!
