snowbabies

kimberli & wade have a "farmhouse" with a few acres. on tuesday
they invited us to come play in the snow and get pulled behind
the 4-wheeler. it was the twins first real day of playing in the
snow.......boston fought witht all his might to not get those snow
clothes on but mom won and he cried almost the whole time.....

the only way to get boston to not cry was to pull him on the sled.

behind the farmhouse is this gargantuan structure being built
(it's too big to call it a home) if you look closely there is a guy
on top of one of the chimneys doing some sort of construction.

we know boston really liked it because when we got home

he got the plates out of the drawer and turned them into

sleds!..................he would scoot himself across the floor!

back to competing...

skylar had her first level 7 meet of the season today. let's just
say we hope the rest of the season doesn't go like today........
we'll call today a good warm-up. the problem with being the
state champion is there's only one way to go..............down.
wish us luck.

we do have to admit, it's still fun to watch her even on off
days because it's so amazing to see what she can do.

middle, left.......brigham has many nicknames: brig, briggy,
brigster, briggard, briggard t. justice, wiggles, wig wam, gum,
gum gum, but after seeing this pose, we need to add studly
dude to his list. happy day, brig.

a treasure

whitney gave the twins (and mom) the most amazing birthday
gift. she made a video of them complete with NICU pictures &
peoples memories of that scary, incredible & miraculous day.
it is very interesting to hear/read other peoples version of what
happened and their memories of that event. we have probably
watched 9 times now and can't keep the tears away every time
we watch. we can't thank you enough, whit.

santa came!

christmas day

grandma hansen's house is always full of family, chatting &
laughter and opening presents. her posterity consists of:
5 children & spouses, 29 grandkids w/14 spouses, 37 great-
grandkids with 2 spouses & 1 great-great grandchild.
that's a lot of shopping!

brighton had fun hanging out with gr. jeff. yes, that's her
in the poufy skirt with the pink ugg boots sticking out!

after grandma's, we visited all the cousins to see what they got
for Christmas. we ended up at kimberli's house where of
course, there was a mean game of basketball going on and a
mean game of ping pong going on (between boss & bright)!
we took their new 4-wheelers for them to ride in the court
but they also make great stools for ping pong!

christmas eve

after a yummy meal of ham and 2-hour potatoes,
there's nothing like sitting down to a good car magazine.

we've been talking about this birthday thing for a while now and
we're pretty sure brighton knew what was going on ..................

boston blew the sweetest little blow, trying to get that flame out.

he worked on it for quite a while with no luck. brighton just kept

staring. luckily, we had asher there to help them get blown out.

it's our birthday!

cafe west

for the babies birthday dinner, we went to the hospital cafeteria
(called cafe west), we figure that is where they want to go since
they can't tell us.........this is our 2nd year in a row. it is always
a little sad and strange to be looking up at their old window and
walking through those doors. many weekend nights were spent
at cafe west, since the kids could only visit on the weekends, we
would always have dinner there.
thankfully now it's only once a year!

sky had to be carried because at 11 years of age she still can't
remember her shoes.........even when her mom reminds her!

brighton listening very carefully for the preemies upstairs.

skylar and sailor would come here every night if we'd let them...
................................................nothing beats a footlong corndog!

the good and the bad.......

the good new is that yesterday while mom took boston up to
primary children's for his follow-up appt., hayden (and sailor)
babysat brighton....they made brownies and played in the snow!

the bad news is that most likely boston will need another surgery

where's brighton?

the other day while boston was sleeping, mom noticed that
brighton was being very quiet.....knowing this is not good,
she went looking. brighton had to be in her favorite place
in the house..............................................skylar's room:

what she didn't expect was this:

all tucked in sky's bed, reading.

such a mommy...

we don't remember our older girls liking babies as much as

brighton does, especially at such a young age...it is sooo cute!

the problem starts when she mothers boston............not cute.
