sailor's first day

sailor loves her teacher and loves her class. here she is on the first
day school.....i didn't get hayden's picture but he sure looked cute!

tonight i was telling the twins how lucky they are to be twins and
brighton said, "i'm a brother, he's a twin"...................................Y

my baby girl

skylar started junior high today. how did that happen? she
looked so darling and seemed excited. sky is one of those kids
that gets better with age, she is truly delightful (most of the
time)! skylar is so innocent and it breaks my heart to think
of the things she'll see and hear at school now. i guess that's
life. sky loves school supplies (it's her favorite thing to buy)
and last night she got her binder ready. i thought it was so
cute that she stuck scissors, a glue stick, and a stapler with
extra staples in her binder. oh, the innocence.....................

36 people 1 house

we spent the weekend in an awesome house in copper mountain.
there were 36 of us and surprisingly it didn't seem too crowded.
(although, we were in an upstairs bedroom, not in the basement
with all the kids in the theater room or the game room playing
basketball, pool, and foosball or in the hottub...........................)


day one: breckenridge. shopping, alpine slide, tram.........
the kids always love playing in the pond at beaver creek so
we were happy to find one here at breckenridge................

we were so lucky to have gr. cathy meet us there................

the shopping was fun (it helps to have scooters for the kids!)

joe was a good sport staying with the kids while we shopped......

the only way i could get around shopping was in a wheelchair.

i wasn't going to let a little surgery stop me!..............................

day two: the family headed up to leadville for mike's race but
there was no way i could go so joe, the twins, and myself headed

to denver with cathy. the highlight of the day for joe: seeing

these cars. a convertible lambourghini and a bugati (million $)

after denver/leadville we headed to our favorite park in vail.

the kids spun around on this for 1/2 hour................dizziness!

sunday: after church we headed to the vail skate park, another

favorite. mike showed off his giant belt buckle he got for racing

in the leadville 100 for 10 years in a row............congrats, mike!

the skating didn't last long. we were kicked off for using scooters.

i guess they remember us from last year...................about 15 kids

on scooters invading the skaters, they must not have liked that

tayler, chandler, austin jones, christian, cole, cade....................

sadie, gr. pam, lisel (the mom-to-be!), skye, asher, shayne, bost.

the family headed home but we headed to the vail farmer's

market. we found another pond which was a nice way to cool

off after making our way (with wheelchair) through the crowds

of granola's and giant dogs, rich old ladies with their husbands.

we really stood out..................................................................

hayden & boston have really become good buddies. i Y it.

stopping in grand junction we came across this window with

3 little pigs. one was named chris, another joe and the middle

pig was anna (who's anna?) random but kinda funny at the time.

we grew tomatoes!

it is seriously a miracle! we grew something in our garden! hayden
was able to pick these tomatoes........................he was in heaven!

we were lucky enough to meet jordan's favorite companion that
that is now at byu and kim, a convert from the netherlands.....


another elder met us at dinner, he brought his motorcycle along
and grandma pam jumped right on the back!............................


a classic game of whiteball at shaynes. chris & joe had to show
the elders all of jordan's moves.............................................


smores around the fire.


one of the best parts of the night was when whitney brought
out finn's birthday cake. our guests sang happy birthday
to him in dutch!...................................................................

what kids do while their mom is in the hospital...

take random pictures of their bathroom, themselves and each
other! oh, and they also do a great job of running the house-
hold, making food, tending twins, cleaning the house and holding
down the fort.......................................................amazing kidsY
