the joy of twins

the twins do things that none of my other kids ever did.
it seems to be special to twins and their circumstances.
i've got to get them in writing so that i don't forget........

tonight brighton fell asleep downstairs on the favorite blanket
in front of the t.v.....noisy & bright, she was out of it. i tucked
boston in bed, got a few things done and about 40 minutes later,
took her upstairs and changed her into her jammies.
all the while, she is totally asleep.
while carrying her into their bedroom she whispers:
night, night bosty.

(bosty is what she calls boston--she is always looking out for him)
almost always. she loves her twin.

boston's shin guard obsession is now changing
to hayden's baseball helmet obsession. he has
to have it on every day and it's always worn
backwards! he ends up looking a bit darth vader-ish!

slot canyon

the kids looovved climbing through this slot canyon in st. george.
it's maybe 10" wide at one point with walls about 30 feet high.
yes, i have done it, joe's too barrel-chested...............................

the evil duck

at grandma's house in st. george, there are beautiful swans in the
pond behind her house. the babies call them ducks, boston just
calls them "quack quack's". this particular swan is not friendly,
he would see us coming and book-it across the pond-making the
babies run and scream. after a while, the twins were used to it
and the swan would come right up to them and snap at them.
boston's lucky the quack quack didn't take his nose off.

water boy

joe, being the good city boy and devoted father that he is, wanted
to make sure we weren't thirsty for our hike that was 5 minutes
from grandma's house. he filled a pitcher, cleaned out a milk con-
tainer and filled it, and brought a few water bottles. we were set.
i couldn't wait to see him hiking up the red rock with his pitcher.

pioneer names

while in st. george we hiked up to these names written on the rock
by the exploring mormon pioneers. they used grease from their
wagon axles to write their names..........graffiti in the olden days?!

we were out on a very windy day....

fascination

while in st. george for spring break, the twins saw a lady bug for
the first time. they let it crawl up their arms and now they want
bugs to crawl on them every time they see one...............eewww.

easter sunday

with tummies full of candy, the kids were all smiles!

everytime we looked at boston, he was eating candy.......

unfortunately sky's state meet was very early in the morning....
sky is not a morning person...........it took her two events to get
warmed up. meaning: she didn't do her best on beam and bars,
she placed on both floor and vault. beam is her best event and
she should have taken first. vault is her worst and she placed
her highest on vault. it was the first time she's cried at a meet.

thanks to the collins' for their comfy, clean and way super cute
house they let us invade! the waffles were amazing, the
shampoo was thrilling (haha) and the company was the best!

disneyland in 1 day

doing disneyland in one day is not the easiest thing to do.
especially when it's spring break for the rest of america
and mexico! but, we still loved it and got to ride almost
everything. one day is exactly what joe prefers
