double the fun!

everything is twice as fun with twins

from one party to another....

sailor the fish

of course, skylar is shooting and teasing the jr. high
boys!

after the waffle party we went to the
brian's for a swim party. tons of kids
and tons of fun!!!

party time.....

school's out and it has been one party
day! thanks, nan black, for the after
school brunch/party--the waffles were
delish!

only our skylar!

we caught sky on the sidelines dancing funny and
making her friends laugh.......................we Y sky!

serious.

the babies sat in this position with this expression
throughout the whole dance festival......they're not
too sure about all these strange kids doing strange
things!

dance festival........

check out these dance moves!

eagle, here we come....

hayden got his first award tonight in boy
scouts (not cub scouts, this is the big
leagues). he got his tenderfoot.......now,
only how many more years 'til his eagle?

sailor van gogh

tonight, after field day, after soccer tryouts,
after hayden's baseball game......we got to go
to sailor's art show! she shows exceptional
talent (she's standing next to her self-portrait),
but of course, you could tell that!

aaahhhh....

after field day today, sailor had competition soccer
tryouts--she was one hot girl and couldn't resist
the sprinklers at the school. oh, to be a kid...........

5.28.2008

field day

today was field day....remember how great
field day was? how fun! sailor did great on
this obstacle course, skylar won the crab-walk
race and the sommersault race (surprised?)
hayden moved up in the sprint (5th place overall!)
they got to finish off the day throwing a water
balloon at their teachers and mom got a sunburn!

hayden seacrest

for hayden's final student council assembly, they did
an american idol skit---he was ryan seacrest and he
did a fabulous job. here he is with the gal that played
sayesha and then the entire student council got recog-
nized. poor pictures, we know. our zoom lens is some-
where between orem and san clemente.

5.27.2008

joe's better half.....

we've found it necessary to fly patrick in town every once
in a while to help joe catch up on life. here he is playing
big brother---------hayden needs someone to school him
once in a while and pat is really good at it! (yes, he beat
hayden at chess. someone has to, his mom and dad can't!)
thanks y'all in k.c. for letting us have him for a time!

still working on it.....

one month ago today boston took his first
steps. he's still not walking but we'll keep
working on it------problem is, he gets so
excited that he can't control himself. he
thinks it's the greatest thing ever (and we
do too!)
brighton gets so excited for him, she can't
control her enthusiastic clapping. notice
her in the background!

5.26.2008

sick sky sky

poor skylar, she has to spend her day off being sick.
we had to put up a barricade because the babies
love her so much they kept trying to crawl up on her.

see what we mean?!

pucker up!

pretty much any time of the day, you
can catch boston practicing his pucker!
watch out girls.........................................

stickiness

on the cheeks, on the chin, down the neck
and down the arm.........the clean-up in the
kitchen sink was a blast, especially when
boss covered the end of the spout and
laughed as water sprayed the cupboards, the
shutters, the floor and mom--again and again!

first ice cream cone!

brighton is filled with joy and ready to lick!

boston is serious about his ice cream.

life

you know you're tired when you can sleep with a
baby playing with a toy on top of you....................

don't mean to brag, but.....

this is what was made for sunday dinner and dessert!
the mag fam is getting quite gourmet.........thanks to
hayley for the pickypalate blog link and thanks to gina
for the oreo cookie recipe. these were both delish but
don't be expecting an invitation, anyone. this kind of
stuff only comes along once in a blue moon and meanwhile
we'll be patting ourselves on the back!

5.24.2008

lemon yogurt heaven

as we were heading out the door,
the twins found sailor's opened yogurt
container.....not only was yogurt all over
them, it was all over the floor and the stool.
they were so happy and still going at it when
we found them. with no time to clean them
and not wanting to disrupt their heavenly
moment, we were stuck!
luckily, karen watkins called from a block
away...she came to the rescue and stayed
here with them. she even cleaned them up
when they were done. thanks, karen!

lesson of the day: sometimes you have to
step back and let your kids make a mess.
the reward is much greater than the mess!

can't wait for thursdays!

thursday is the best day of the week around here.....
it's garbage day!!! the twins go crazy--they point
and go eewww, eewww! brighton is usually on her
tippy toes in excitement. wednesday night joe mentions
that the garbage truck is coming in the morning and they
point out the window (he's convinced they know what he's
talking about).
we are lucky to live in a cul-de-sac, we run them to
different windows--it's a full on event around here!

5.21.2008

a coke and a smile...

boston made us smile for a while when he couldn't
put this coke cup down-he just kept tipping it back,
hands free!
he likes his coke just like his daddy...

how amazing is he?

we are in awe of this cute boy and will miss seeing
and hearing him weekly.....download your itunes now!

5.18.2008

lesson of the day

take your camera with you wherever you go.
tonight we celebrated cade's b-day and we
missed some sweet blog photos-use your imagination.

boston & brighton had their first wagon ride in
asher's wagon. they looooooved it. brighton
was so proud--it was like she was a beauty
queen on a float in a parade. and we have no
photo.......lesson learned.

then, the girls (sky, sai, paige) saw a "bird" fly into
asher's bedroom--and then into shayne's bedroom.
brave cole grabbed a net to catch it and realized it
was a BAT.
yes, you heard right, a bat. there was high-pitched
screaming from all four of them. so, picture this:
mike is in the master bathroom "gracefully" waving
this net around at a frightened, ugly, furry bat;
while big, tall wade is in the short hallway leading to it
waving his arms back and forth like he's trying to "shoo"
the bat into the bathroom that it's already in.
children and adults galore are behind wade and every
30 seconds there is screaming and a mad dash out of the
room.
the men are lucky there were little girls and boys to cover
up their screaming.
mike saved the night by catching (and killing) the bat.
mike won't kill a spider in his own home so this was truly
sad (for him).
another missed photo, and boy it would have been a good one.

hayden the babysitter

so, after days of holding crying babies, mom and dad
escaped for a night out and left hayden to tend.
whitney and grandpa jeff stopped by and the kids had
made this train, they were having a blast.
hayden is for hire!
thanks whitney for snapping this moment.

we survived!

this is what our weekend looked like.
we are on day 4 of sick babies but we've made it through
the hardest part. twins are hard but sick twins is beyond
hard. (this is the part when you say "ahh, can i make you
dinner?"!)

5.16.2008

journal entry

sick baby brighton...(and getting sick baby boston).
bright has strep, which is really rare for a baby.
she has been miserable (to say the least) and won't
let mom put her down, meanwhile boston threw up!
skylar, hayden and joe are at the jazz/lakers game.
jazz are getting killed so they're probably not having
too much fun either. thank goodness for sailor, she
is a very good nurse/mom/entertainer girl!

yes! that is brighton's foot underneath her chin! comfy?

happy birthday cade & sage & sadie!

cade showing off his skills

sadie and sage, our other favorite twins.

5.14.2008

a sad day

our good friend, denise urish, lost her mom,
karen deschamps, in a tragic car accident
yesterday while serving a mission for our
church in kirtland, ohio. her dad, randy deschamps,
is in ICU and his recovery is still not certain.
our thoughts and prayers are with them.
please keep them in your prayers.

5.11.2008

happy mother's day!

thank you grandma cathy for being a great mom!
....................you're a fabulous example to all of us.

5.10.2008

oh, to be a baby...

how fun does that look? this is pure joy!
..............now all boston needs is a cape!

5.09.2008

almost the champs...

congrats to skylar and the celtic storm.....they played
in the championship game tonight which is great , but...
unfortunately, they lost. 2nd place isn't bad but it's not
good enough for sky..........................way to hustle, sky
