out of the closet

we rented a neat, modern house while in palm springs.  it obviously was owned by 2 men
(if you know what i mean. as is 95% of the houses there.)  we couldn't help peeking into
their closet which led to joe trying on this:  have you ever seen anything so horrendous?!

straight to the courts!

we invaded the tennis courts in palm springs first thing. i don't think they've ever seen so many kids!
mike was nice to do an in-n-out run for everyone.  tennis & in-n-out, great combination!
poor joe!  he had nobody to play tennis with.  i'm not much competition for him.

traveling will never be the same

in march, we took another trip to palm springs.  this time it only took us an hour, thanks to our good friend's jet.  as great as it is to travel that way, it's going to be hard next year when we have to drive!

joe's convinced he would live 30 years longer if he could always travel that way.  on our way home, we
had to stop at winchell's for donuts.  we didn't realize the airport had closed but they were holding it open
just for us.  it was also nice having our rental car there and waiting for us.  we were spoiled all weekend!

lets go snowing

the twins waited all winter to go "snowing".  we didn't have a lot of snow in the valley so we took advantage
when we could.  they loved every minute of it.  actually, we all did.  it's always fun with these kids.
hayden, trying to slide down on box.  didn't make it too far!
hayden, boston & brighton trying to go down all together.  brighton on top of boston on top of hayden!
there was a lot of racing!
there was a lot of laughing.
guess who always likes to win?!
 checking her competition.
 standing/snowboarding was fun to try.
brighton decided to pull boston up the hill!
this is when the giggling began!
too much laughing to go anywhere!

through boston's eyes

i love it when random pictures show up on my camera.  it's nice to see life through a kid's perspective.

freezing phoenix

we were so happy to go to phoenix in the middle of cold, snowy february.  problem is, it was freezing!  the sun didn't shine until we were pulling out of grit & sherry's driveway. (although the good shopping made up for the bad weather!)  skylar had another gymnastics meet.  this time it was in cardinal's stadium.  huge.
this is where they play football games with 300lb men.  not the greatest venue for 65lb gymnasts.  it was cold and distant, skylar got swallowed up inside.  joe was excited until we had to pay $70 for admission.

we thought it was pretty cool when we saw sky's name posted on the scoreboard, even if her score wasn't the highest (this was vault)  not her best event.  luckily, they're changing venue's for next years meet.  hopefully we'll also get better weather!
one of the highlights of the trip was looking for a winchell's donuts. we entered it into our navigation, and ended up here.  i had to sneak inside to see what was going on.  the workers/owners were middle eastern.  go figure.  i don't think they've sold a donut ever.  until i came in and bought 3.  didn't eat them!
the twins have learned about cactus' on dora so they were so excited to see one and touch it!
it was fun getting the kids to be dorky!  i wouldn't let them leave until they posed like a cactus!

another meet, another medal

since gym meets were such a big part of our winter, i have to stick in a photo here and there. 2nd place.
dang, not first!

the circus came to town

in february we went to the small town circus with our good friends.
skylar was so happy that she could ride the elephant this time!  no broken leg!
(sailor, jake, eva, sydney, elle, ?, ?, skylar)
lovely sailor looks lovely on top of an elephant!
brighton and her twin were only interested in the bouncy slides this time.
the elephant........................................................been there, done that.
this is as close as skylar got to the bear.  the line was too long.

toy story parade

our sweet friend from the netherlands, cate, sent the twins these cute toy story toys.
the twins love lining them up like they are in a parade.  they're a little excited...can you tell?!
