beaver creek--it's free!

one of our favorite places is beaver creek, one reason is
because they have a free children's museum. that's right,
free! it is always a must to visit, dress up, play & create!

ice skating in august..........seriously!

one thing i looooove about beaver creek is this ice rink!
ice. in the middle of august! it is a lovely site...............our
gazillion kids had to get their feet on it. now we just need skates!

invasion!

our first stop in vail was at the skate park. kids (our kids) were
everywhere..........the skater dudes didn't know what hit them!
but thanks to the great talent of cameron, we soon earned their
respect, as long as the 200 children didn't get in their way.....
(ya, right!)

this is how two year olds do the skate park........................

sky finally got some lessons from her patient dad. she actually

ended up doing really well....her new nickname: skylar hawk.

it was boston's lucky day the first morning in vail, he woke up to
tractor's right outside our house. sailor took boston over to chat
with the construction worker and get a close up of the tractor!

they didn't even get eaten by the "bear" that christian saw

the night before....................................................phew!

while at sailor's soccer tournament we needed a snow cone to cool
us off...this is what skylar came back with! it's as big as her head!

brighton went through a rodeo queen phase. she actually had to
wear this all day (or there would be a fit thrown)..........yee haw!

while taking sailor to a soccer tournament in salt lake city, we

passed this sign and had to take advantage..........i explained to

brighton what it said and the next day while driving by again,

without pointing it out, she pointed and said, "bright, brighton"

deja' vu

10 years ago i drove jordan up payson canyon to scout camp.
while driving down the canyon, i saw a field full of sunflowers.
i jumped out of the car. stuck hayden in the middle of them
and captured some of our most favorite and funny pictures
of hayden's nose getting tickled by the sunflowers..............

this summer, i drove hayden to the same scout camp, saw
the same field of sunflowers and captured some fun pictures
of these two.....................................................................

of course...

while i was busy filming the surfers, brighton naturally
took off all of her clothes, put on her swim diaper and
i'm sure was going for the sunscreen next..................
............to smear in her hair like only brighton can do.

who needs the ocean?

for wyatt's birthday last month, kimberli rented the new surfing
machine in lindon. oh. how. fun. possibly more fun to watch than
to do. hayden and most of the boys started out trying to just
stay on their knees........only to get thrown off and up the "wave"

morgan was the "dude" of the day but even dude's wipeout!

i just noticed that in the last 4 posts, brighton only has on a diaper.
i promise i do dress her but she changes her clothes all. day. long.
i actually hide some of her clothes now or put them way up high.
she's 2. please tell me she'll outgrow this...........................please!

caught!

how in the world does brighton know to cut hair with scissors?
i swear, the few times she has gotten her hair cut we've been
so careful to not let her see the scissors and i've rarely even
shown her scissors at all. how does she know? how did she
figure out how to prop the barbie just right in the drawer so
she would have easy access to the cutting? scissors are now
kept up very very high. i really hope i don't end up posting
pictures of boston with chopped hair............knock on wood.

grandpa took brighton & boston for their weekly ride around
the neighorhood..........little did i know, boston was buck naked
streaking past the neighbors. grandpa tried to get him to get
dressed but riding in grandpa's car is always top priority.....

a perfect example

here is a perfect example of life with brighton & boston:

brighton gets a yogurt out of the fridge, by herself, without me
knowing, tries to open it, spills it and decides to lick it off the floor.

boston comes in with a rag and cleans up the mess.

i guess boston takes after his mom, brighton after her dad!
