the glass bottomed boat

we found some nice guys to take us around in their glass bottomed
boat.......it sounded good while they were trying to convince us to
hire them...............the glass ended up being only about a foot
wide, couple feet long with a big crack down the middle of it
(scary)
that had been hastily repaired with some sort of silicone pressed
against it! it just added to the excitement! ................here we are
in the boat, parked in front of other boats but that's no problem,
we just bumped our way through them................no stopping us!

indian?" approached brighton for a picture......ya, she loved it!

ahhh, off the ship!

what an adventure trying to get all these kids from the ship to
this small ferry boat in the middle of the harbor......................

goodbye for the day...i still can't believe how huge those ships are!

the reason i cried the first day on the ship

too many people! here we are getting our instructions on "if the
boat begins to sink"..............ya, good luck with all these people!

guess what's behind this towel!

not a cast! not a walking boot! a leg!!!!!!!!! after the

first day on the ship, skylar got sick of the boot and

took it off! we were so proud of her and it made our

trip a lot more fun because she could actually do stuff!

hayden had a blast with this giant chess set. here he is playing
against his best friend, nic. hayden had people waiting to play
him. he got schooled by some asian grandpa dude but this same
asian guy said: you are good......................................................

golfing on the ocean

we had a blast playing mini golf on our cruise...........it's not so easy
to do with the sway of the ship, although i did hit a hole-in-one!
gr. bob, these kids will be ready to meet you on the golf course!

i wish i had a picture of each outfit

brighton changed her clothes 19 times today. seriously. that
includes 4 different swimsuits, dresses, tights, pants, shirts,
even her underwear changed with every outfit, including
about 4 pair of boston's undies. just tonight she had her
jammies on, i walked to the girls room and within a minute, i
came back to her bedroom and she had on different jammies
and then when she saw boston wearing his striped
jammies, she had to change back into her striped jammies
that she had put on the first time. what am i supposed to do?

you should see her bedroom.........actually no, you shouldn't.

cruise ship decor

could someone please design a non-cheesy, up-to-date ship?
(this is actually one of the most attractive pieces of art, believe
it or not!) this ended up being a favorite spot for b & b because
they fit there so well--we spent a lot of time here waiting for
the elevator............................................................................

on the big big big big boat

we finally made it to san diego and onto the ship or as b & b would
call it the big big big big boat. it was nice to find a quiet spot to
check out the harbor after battling the crowds to get on..............

in-n-out treasure

while driving to california we were challenged to stop at
in-n-out in barstow to find a hidden treasure! when
christian & lisel went to palm springs, chris hid a dollar
by the in-n-out sign! he told hayden where to look and
after some searching and a little digging.......................


we found it! it had a few holes in it from some creature
nibbling on it but that just made it all the more exciting!

pit stop

easter sunday we headed out for san diego........we didn't make
it too far when boston absolutely had to get out of his car seat.
oh, this was going to be a long drive! he loved this very windy
jog off the side of the freeway. the rest of us had fun sticking
our heads out of the sun roof!..............................................



a pit stop would not be complete without throwing rocks.

easter in a flash

easter came and went and these are all the pictures i have! the
morning was spent finding candy and opening a gift from mom
& dad (everyone got a new swimsuit and sunglasses). here is
sailor excited about her new things. the rest of the morning was
spent packing and then we were off. no easter brunch or fancy
dinner, no church or fancy easter dresses. it wasn't quite right.

so tired!

life's been too busy this week to blog(journal) but i really don't
want to get behind so i'm trying my best to catch up this week-
end. i've missed missionary letters also so i'll post 2 weeks of
those. p.s. today sky jumped on the trampoline! yea for progress!

look who's taking swimming lessons!

brighton & boston have taken 4 weeks of survival swimming and
actually just finished lessons today. they cried every day the first
week, a few days the second week but can now get to their "safety
place" on their backs. we're now ready for summer, problem is,
we've still got a month and a half until pools open...................

this week they practiced "falling in" fully dressed. they were so

confused when we went to swimming without swimsuits on and

boston especially did not like the idea of swimming in clothes

and shoes but most importantly, they learned they can swim

with their clothes on which is when a lot of accidents happen!

the uniform

boston has to wear basketball clothes every single day. it's a
major phase he's going through. he will not wear anything else.
i've become really good at convincing him that certain things
are basketball. should we get him a celtics jersey that says
boston across the chest? he may not ever take it off!

into the wild

last weekend hayden went cross-country skiing 5 1/2 miles into
the mountains to a yurt that provided a nice cozy place to sleep.
okay, he actually didn't stay warm but it was better than sleeping
outside! and all with this monster backpack on! if it wasn't for
scouts, he would never do anything like this--we are too boring!
thank goodness for scouts............(besides all the merit badges!)
